News About Women in Chess

I only report on tournaments where at least one female played.  If I'm not sure a named player is male or female, I may leave the name out or include it, so on occasion I may omit a woman player from the results or include a man player in error.

October 29, 2007:

I'm blogging every now and then about the standings of the Women's part of the championship.  Anyway, here's a mini photogallery of Cuties and Beauties from the 2007 European Team Chess Championships to feast your eyeballs upon. There are a lot of beautiful people playing chess these days - not all of them pictured here.  All photos from the official website.

Sheila Dines 2007 Guernsey.jpg (213835 bytes)The event (68 players) was won by GM T. Hillarp-Persson (SWE 2567), with 6.0/7.  One chess femme participated in this event, the lovely Sheila Dines (ENG 1901), who finished in 42nd place with 3.0.  Is Sheila really only 14?  Geez, what are they feeding girls these days?
