August, 2006:

More August, 2006 News

Added February 5, 2007.  Jessie Gilbert's Death.  I wanted to do a follow-up report since at the time of the initial reports of her death in July, 2006, it was unclear whether it was accidental.  I won't go into details; it appears that Ms. Gilbert's father had been accused of sexually abusing Ms. Gilbert and others girls.  After Ms. Gilbert's death, two charges were dropped against Mr. Gilbert.  He was tried and found not guilty on all counts against him on December 14, 2006.  Wikipedia has a biographical page on Ms. Gilbert along with a summary of the events surrounding her death, with links to outside news sources.  A very sad sad event.  We've lost a lovely young lady to the fall-out from abuse that is all too common and all too often swept under the rug.  This makes me so angry.
